Partners signing on to GGC Road to 2050 climate initiative

The Grain Growers of Canada are partnering with Corteva Agriscience as they focus on the 'Road to 2050' climate initiative.

The 'Road to 2050' will propose a path forward that identifies opportunities for the sector to continue reducing its contributions to greenhouse gas emissions.

Bryce Eger, President of Corteva Agriscience Canada says they believe climate positive agriculture is the way forward, where collective actions and commitments create a stronger and more productive food system.

"Canadian farmers know that agriculture has the power to transform our planet's environmental, economic and social health so that we can continue to feed the world while supporting the very resources that make it all possible. Industry collaborations like these are critical to ensuring the industry’s resiliency and success."

The roadmap will focus on innovation, research and beneficial management practices, representing a practical and proactive approach to tackling climate change.

Andre Harpe, Chair of the Grain Growers of Canada says with Corteva's focus on ensuring the resiliency of our global food production system, they will offer valuable insight and be a trusted partner throughout this process.
