Stay the Course Saskatchewan Budget

The Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association supports the proposed 2018/19 Saskatchewan budget. “No new taxes is good for everyone in the province. Having a plan to return to a surplus budget in two years is good for Saskatchewan” stated Daryl Fransoo, Director. “I am particularly pleased to see the addition of over $11 M allocated towards mental health initiatives.”

Under the proposed Saskatchewan budget approximately $250 M will be used to fund the risk management programs of AgriStability, AgriInvest, Western Livestock Price Insurance and Crop Insurance. These programs provide all farmers assurance as they go forward with their crops.

“I am pleased to see that the Saskatchewan government is maintaining both personal and corporate tax rates, providing stability for businesses as well as a steady revenue stream to fund our schools, hospitals and other social programs,” closed Levi Wood, President.
